Telescope: 140mm; the long focus objective is a single lens biconvex, made of pyrex with a FL of 2800mm

The mechanical support is a computer printer carrier.  Their structure was made of wood.  A 2x barlow gives about 5.6 meters FL; The spectroheliograph diaphrams in the sunlight path to prime focus at the Manning synthesizer

West view:  The black box (A) contains the difraction grating

                    The black tubes (B) is the collimator

                    The white box (C) contains the control electronics for oscillating slits and the coelostat.

                    The instrument is supported by walls (D)

The view
